I create Nordic textiles made from sustainable materials.

Floor looms, natural fibres, colours & patterns, I mix traditional textile making techniques with a modern twist

Finnish born textile artisan who creates Nordic style textiles made from up cycled and new materials. Hand weaving is a part of my heritage in Finland, generations of women in my family have passed down their knowledge of weaving.

I use wooden floor looms, natural fibres, vibrant and earthly colours and a vast array of patterns with varied textile making techniques. I am very visual and many of the patterns I use in my woven textiles are traditional patterns that have been used for centuries.

Colour, materials and the feel of the textile all create a story as every piece I create is unique. A mixture of deep Nordic tradition and Australian beach lifestyle is where I draw inspiration.

Weaving is a meditative practice for me and the process is actually quite rhythmic. Creating at the loom is a slow and cathartic way to produce art and when engulfed by the process, it is my therapy.

Art therapy.

When I let myself get in to the flow state of weaving, time seems to fly. Using different textiles I have come to expect surprises. Just because a composition looks good on paper doesn't mean it will look good as woven fabric.

As I am creating, I am constantly imagining the end product to ensure a certain level of professionalism. I follow my instincts to create woven textile designs that feel balanced and look beautiful.
